Comics, Cakes, and a (manga) Convention

Hello again, Picklepeople, and all apologies for not having posted anything for a while. Sadly, a new comic strip is not yet ready, as we have been working on a charity issue of Pickleman and organizing a cake sale (Oh, it was so delicious...) to raise funds for printing Pickleman in large quantities. It was lovely to see so many people who genuinely wanted to read Pickleman (it still amazes me that anyone does), even if one cow dear colleague did exclaim "I'm not paying TWENTY P for a LEAFLET!", before proceeding to give us a look of repulsion. Nonetheless, the good news is that we raised lots of money, so will definetely be able to print Pickleman and take him to the MCM Convention at London Expo in May. We hope to see you there, or you shall be deemed thoroughly square.

Happy Candlemas to members of the Armenian Apostolic Church!

To all those of you who belong to the Armenian Apostolic Church, Happy Presentation of Jesus at the Temple Day!*

And to those of you who are smarmily parading the fact that you happen to be 'in a relationship' on the 14th of February - I give it two weeks at the most.

Happy Holidays!

*My thanks to Wikipedia.

Comics, contests, and crazy characters.

Hello Picklepeople.
For those of you desperately clawing at your hair in frustration at the lack of a new episode of Pickleman, fear not – we are currently working on two (Yes – TWO) episodes of Pickleman, simultaneously. One of these is the next episode of Pickleman, about which all information is classified, top secret, and most definitely not to be posted on a public blog. The other is a spin-off charity comic, which we are producing in order to raise money for a friend to go on a charity trip to South Africa. We are making progress on both of them, and they should both be in print by March (and then later at MCM Expo, if all goes well).
However, we have a problem - one of our characters has been kidnapped.
Yes. That’s right. A cartoon character has been kidnapped from the very pages of Pickleman. Because of this, nearer the release date, we will be holding a competition for a new character. We’re not quite sure how much it will cost to enter a character, but it should be well within the financial range of mere mortals (five to ten pence-ish), and all the proceeds will be going to funding the charity trip. By the way, artistic talent and realistic drawing skills are not in any way necessary for this competition. We are looking for unusual and interesting characters – personality rather than prettiness. So even if the only thing that you can draw is a lima bean, and even that looks like a black hole, have a go. There’s nothing stopping you. Except for that humongous wall of self-doubt in your mind. But other than that – nothing!
Furthermore, there are going to be prizes… First prize is, of course, your character being featured in a Pickleman comic (the South Africa one). Alongside that, the winner and two runners-up will receive exclusive Pickleman badges. And you can’t pass up on an opportunity like that.

First post.

Pickleman is the newest superhero on the block. He's strong, sexy, and has a surprisingly tangy aftertaste. On this blog, we'll aim to post regular updates and exclusive previews, and tell you exactly when and where you can get your picklecomics. Keep checking!
